Ramsbottom - A Pot of Gold at the end of the Rainbow
An unspoiled Victorian mill
town nestled in the West Pennine Moors. We have a host of interesting
Shops and Restaurants, some gaining national recognition. There is a
Heritage Society
and a trail to follow the History of the area -
Rambles take
place regularly. The more energetic may wish to walk up to Holcombe Village and
Peel Tower on Holcombe
Hill. The town is close to the M66 and can be readily accessed by motor
car, bus or East Lancashire
Railway.
Regular Events take place in the town - Take a
look for that special day out.
If you are a resident of Ramsbottom, you will find this site useful for
finding out about local Organisations,
Amenities and
Recreation facilities. You will also be able to keep in touch with local
issues through the Local Area
Partnership who also
provide contact council offices and the
useful services provided.
We also provide dedicated pages (Sub-websites) for local community minded groups that
need the support of community minded people.
If you once lived in Ramsbottom and wish to find long lost friends, why
not ask Where Are You ?

It is said that the name Ramsbottom is derived from the expression " The
bottom of the valley where the wild garlic (Ramson) grows ". Now
listen to the song that says it all.
