1940's WARTIME WEEKEND - 10th Anniversary Event - 24th - 26th May

The event will feature:

Military Trains, Battle Re-enactments, Field Hospital, ENSA Entertainer, Military & Civilian Vehicles, Stalls, Big Band, Military Band, Dance Display, Evening Dances, Concerts and much more!

NEW!!!  'Old Mill Acoustic Session' at the Old Mill Hotel, Ramsbottom.

First and third Sunday of each month.

The event will follow a folk club sing-around format, with no amplification or sound reinforcement, but there is absolutely no restriction on the styles of music being performed - folk, roots, pop, rock, jazz, world, techno if you must - anything goes so long as  it is played with un-amplified instrumentation.

First session Sunday 4th May 8.30pm - Free entry.

PEEL TOWER - 150 YEARS A Photo Gallery of  event that took place at the tower on Sunday 15th September 2002 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of its opening.  Video available from Barry Aldous barry@aldous.net
GOLDEN JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS - COUNTRY FAIR Commemorating the Queen's Golden Jubilee in Ramsbottom during the early part of June 2002.
GOLDEN JUBILEE WINDOWS - DEDICATION Dedication of the stained glass windows created by Bryan Farlow on Saturday 30th November 2002 at Ramsbottom Public Library.
MAY FESTIVAL - 2003 This years festival included many events, starting with a the popular Indoor French Market, held in the Civic Hall from the 2nd to the 5th of May.  There were musical attractions too, including  Colne Royal Morris Men, the Britannia Coco-Nut Dancers and a Jazz Night at the Cricket Club.  The age old tradition of Maypole dancing was also re-established.     
WARTIME WEEKEND - 2004 This event, organised by the East Lancashire Railway Company, continues to grow in popularity.  Activities took place on Bury Ramsbottom and Rawtenstall stations with a large array of wartime vehicles on display.  People dressed-up in 1940's costume for the occasion and there was an opportunity to jive to the music of the big bands on the station platform.
