FARMERS MARKETS - MARKET PLACE AND CIVIC HALL, RAMSBOTTOM

Second Sunday of each month - Speciality Shops and restaurants open with the market.  10am - 4pm

The farmers market is held monthly in the Market Place and inside Ramsbottom Civic Hall. It features more than 25 stalls and brings together farmers and producers from all over the North West.

A vast array of local produce is available, including jams, breads and home-made fudge, fresh fruit and vegetables, fish, meat (including ostrich), savoury pies and seafood. Also there are home-made crafts, cards, paintings and other locally made items.

CAR BOOT SALE takes place each Sunday on the  railway station car park. If you wish to take part NO NEED TO BOOK - take a car space from 6am. - expect to pay around £10.

Saturday 7th - Sunday 8th August, East Lancashire Railway - Fun Weekend

Activities at all stations - Bury, Ramsbottom, Rawtenstall and Heywood.

  • Watch Gothenburg the tank engine shunting trucks to tell you what they carry
  • Free drop-in chocolate tasting sessions at the Chocolate Café
  • Live music and brass band concerts
  • Jimmy’s Lollipop Express featuring his friends
  • Free vintage bus shuttle to the Bury Transport Museum

  • Have a go on the wheel and be a potter for a day at the pottery workshop
  • Take mum & dad on the new Rossendale scenic Tour Buzz

Saturday 7th August - Ramsbottom Pool & Fitness Centre

There will be fun sessions in the pool, junior gym sessions and adult gym induction sessions. Free seven-day gym and swim passes will be given to all who take part in an induction session. Meanwhile, messy play and arts and crafts sessions will run in the morning in the crèche.

A first aid person will be on hand to give advice on paediatric first aid and information about first aid courses run by Bury Council.

The day runs from 8am to 5pm – why not come along and see what the pool and fitness centre can offer your family, help you be more active, and make a Change4Life?

WARTIME WEEKEND - 2009 This event, organised by the East Lancashire Railway Company, continues to grow in popularity.  Activities took place on Bury Ramsbottom and Rawtenstall stations with a large array of wartime vehicles on display.  People re-enacting in 1940's costume for the occasion.
