LATEST NEWS

In February 2010, an ‘in principal’ grant offer of £78,000 was made by the Board of Directors of the Pilsworth Environmental Company (PEC) following an application from FORCH in conjunction with Bury Council. Bury Council had made a funding commitment to PEC to support the bid for the further refurbishment of the Hall.

So FORCH’s fundraising has never been more important.

'Singing for Ramsbottom' CD now available

Historic singing by Mark Dowding and Chris Harvey

with narration by Jonathan Ali

FORCH’s first Autumn/Winter event, the Singing for Ramsbottom concert was recorded and produced on CD for us by Barry Aldous.  (Copies, at £7.00 each, on sale from the Civic Hall Manager and at future FORCH events)  The money raised will go towards further Hall improvements.

About the CD, the Secretary, Holcombe Brook & District Music Society, Richard W Hall, writes:

“The 16 tracks are a fascinating blend of words, music and narrative …  All are delivered by Mark Dowding, Chris Harvey and Jonathan Ali with clarity, wit and élan. …FORCH are to be congratulated for having the foresight in producing this exemplary recording for posterity of our manufacturing traditions and it is warmly recommended.”
