Ramsbottom
Angling Association
is one of the oldest angling associations in England and there are records
of events taking place over 100 years ago. The association has over
200 members and offers free mid week training sessions. There are
Junior and Senior sections and anglers with disabilities are catered

Trinity
Angling Club have one of the more picturesque sites in the town at
Springwood where ther is plenty of wild birds including Canada Geese,
Mallard and Heron. The birds are protected by the Springwood
Lodge
and Wildlife Group.
The Royal British
Legion is the home of the Nuttall Park
Bowling Club which has six competitive men and ladies teams. The

Real 2 Reel Cinema
present films once a month in the Civic Hall, Ramsbottom. They would

near the Railway station is the home of Ramsbottom
Cricket Club who play in the Lancashire League. The club has
good facilities which can be hired for events, sporting or

Ramsbottom
United Football Club was founded in 1966. Known as 'The Rams'
the club compete in the North West Counties Football League, their
home ground being at the Riverside. The team qualified for the F.A.

Brandlesholme Warriors
Football Club. is 30 years old this year. Although
originally formed in Brandlesholme in 1978 the club has evolved over the
years and now almost all of the players, managers and volunteers at the
club are Ramsbottom residents. The club has 18 teams from U6 to U18
including two girls teams and are one of the biggest and longest running

Working Mens Club is often the venue for Darts and Pool competitions
during the Festival of Sport. Many of the pubs in the town have their own

Society was formed in 1884 and is presently located at Ramsbottom

Rammsbottom ASC
have been very successful in recent years and were very active in the
Millennium celebrations. Making the trip to Woodbury, 24 of the
swimmers gained a 2-0 victory over a local team. For more

Rammy Divers Established
in 1979 Rammy Divers is a British Sub-Aqua club affiliated dive club based
around Bury and Ramsbottom. The club has a regular training schedule and
welcomes divers at all levels and from all diving agencies.
The club owns a RIB which is based at Rhosneigr, Anglesey.
We meet Tuesdays 8.00pm at Bury pool where we have exclusive use of the 4m
deep pool. Afterwards we meet at the Old White Lion on Bolton Street,
Bury, BL9 0LQ. We also meet at Ramsbottom pool on Fridays.

Town Table Tennis Club have been very successful in both the Bolton
and Bury leagues. They play at the Cricket Club which can be

Summerseat Players
provide regular performances at the Theatre Royal and are always
interested in new blood, not just for acting, but to do all important back
stage work, design & make sets, costumes & stage properties, help with
administration, do maintenance work, work with their Youth Theatre leaders
etc., etc..
They have a gang of active retired persons, and younger non-working
members, who meet nearly every Tuesday morning to build sets and do
maintenance work etc, as well as having a good crack and a couple of mugs
of coffee or tea.
Stage work night is Wednesday and members can just call in and join the
workers for a drink at the bar afterwards.
