Attention –Women Leading
Busy Lives
Are you new to the area, or
looking for a new dimension in your busy life? We are a group of like
minded women of all ages, who work, and who join together on programmes to
help others, by lobbying, supporting charities, or campaigning for better
conditions locally, nationally and internationally.
Soroptimist International
is a world wide organisation for women,
working through service projects to advance high ethical standards, human
rights for all, equality, development and peace, through international
goodwill, understanding and friendship, and the status of women.
The Ramsbottom club offers
women fun, friendship, support, and a commitment to service. We meet
every 2nd and 4th Wednesday at the Grant Arms Hotel in Ramsbottom, and we
pay an annual subscription of around £60 to Soroptimist International, and
a small meeting fee at each meeting.
During the last 2 years we
have raised over £5000 to support local, national and international
projects, including help for Bury Young Carers and Victim Support Groups,
Breast Cancer Campaign, and the International Roll Back Malaria Campaign,
and lobbied our M.P’s on various issues. We have taken trips to the
theatre, listened at speaker meetings, and have been out and about on
summer outings, a canal boat trip, fashion show and a Christmas party.
We have also had opportunities to attend conferences and study days, and
enjoyed a great deal of fun and laughter. We are a very friendly
club!
